If in addition to cycling along scenic roads, far and wide, you also feel the need to discover and absorb some local history, then this route is perfect. You will travel the Menador road with its military origins, built in the late 19th century by the Habsburg Alpine hunters and which served as a strategic shortcut for troops during World War One.
The route leads from Levico Terme to the Vezzena Pass, a road of military origin known as Menador climb (or Kayserjägerweg). After a stretch on bike paths, the ascent begins with its long straights carved into the rock, eventually leading to the viewpoint overlooking the Levico and Caldonazzo lakes and the pastures of the Vezzena Plateau, where numerous Alpine huts await.
