From Dobbiaco, the gateway to the Dolomites, to the Three Peaks of Lavaredo. The main feature of this itinerary are the extensive scree slopes and bare rock outcrops that form the backdrop. When biking this route, the almost lunar landscapes blend with the equally extreme perception of fatigue.
The starting and ending point is Dobbiaco, towards Carbonin, where the ascent to Rifugio Auronzo via Misurina begins. The slopes are just brutal right off the start: 800 steep and very difficult metres. Just enough time to recover your breath before the true climb begins: 4 km of pure suffering.
After reaching the summit, we make our way back down to Misurina continuing to Auronzo, where the second climb leading to the Sant’Antonio Pass starts off: a distance of 9 km with an average gradient of 7.1%. The descent leads towards Padola, where the last challenge of the Monte Croce Pass awaits: a distance of 10 km with an average gradient of 4.2%. The last 20 km, on the other hand, are in your favour.
