Description

The Markinkele (Cornetto di Confine) peak marks the border between Italy and Austria, and can be reached via a long and challenging ascent, and from its switchbacks the view becomes increasingly expansive the higher you climb. Used for military purposes during the First World War, the road has consistent gradients and its surface is gravelly at times. From here you cross over to Austria via particularly technical trails, to then return to Italy and arrive at Prato alla Drava by a long, easy and fast descent.
