Colle del Sestriere, the Giro d'Italia's first 2,000 metres of history

LenghtLenght11 km
Elevation gainElevation gain 689 m
DifficultyDifficultyMedium

Climbed for the first time in 1911, Colle del Sestriere is proud to have been the first track over 2,000 metres above sea level included in the Giro d’Italia.

Description

Colle del Sestriere boasts an array of slopes to conquer. We recommend Cesana Torinese. The initial slope, comprising two hairpin bends through the forest, winds around Monte Crouzore, with a gradient of approximately 10%. This seemingly flat stretch will give you just enough time to catch your breath before the trail becomes more intense, leading up to the summit peak at 2,023 metres a.s.l.
