The trails that Piedmont offers to mountain-bike lovers aren’t all intensive. Case in point – this tour winds entirely through the UNESCO-designated area of Montferrat: 27 kilometres at a minimal elevation.
Vignale Monferrato, Camagna Monferrato and Frassinello Monferrato are the key points of interest that characterise this simple route, found within the UNESCO-designated Monferrato Casalese area, a central hot spot for local tourism. You will travel 27 kilometres but there are plenty of spots to stop along the way, as your path will cross a number of characteristic small villages en route, where the region’s strong viticultural tradition is still upheld. This can be seen by the presence of several vineyards and infernot, or caverns, excavated into the sandstone by hand.
