Cycling experience
The surrounding area of Lake Maggiore is in fact ideal terrain for both road and mountain biking. Regarding road biking, bikers can choose depending on their level if they prefer flat and hilly routes or epic climbs. We only need to think about the climbs made famous by the Giro d’Italia such as Cuvignone, Piacavallo and Mottarone.
All with a stunning panoramic view where, of course, the beauty of the lake is one of the most important features. Instead, speaking of MTB, besides the countless scenic routes which wind around the 7 lakes in the area, the scenic and evocative ones from a historical point of view, are the trails along the Cadorna line where you can see and visit the artifacts dating back to WWI. Best time to go:
March-April-May-June and September-October and November.
