Passo della Presolana
A long but not difficult climb, the starting point is from Lovere. The road starts to suddenly climb up from the village: the inhabitants call this section “rate del tines”. The first part of the trail is relatively passable, but once you pass the village of Cerete Basso and San Lorenzo, it starts to ascend over switchbacks. It is important that you start from Baratto towards Monte Pora (climb also chosen by the Giro d’Italia in 2008), the toughest stretch is 4 KM: there is a steady gradient at around 9% with peaks at 11%.
