The Gola del Furlo is one of the most beautiful natural parks in Italy with its emerald green water that penetrates the sumptuous limestone rocks. It is located between Mount Pietralata at 889 meters and Mount Paganuccio 976 meters. Since 2001, it has been designated Gola del Furlo state nature reserve.
From here, the Roman emperor Honorius passed in 404 to go to Rome, in 538 it was a Gothic garrison and subsequently by the Lombards.
Partially recognizable, the profile of Benito Mussolini, reproduced on the slopes of Mount Pietralata by the local Forest Guard in the 1930s, but mined and destroyed by the partisans during the war.
