Cycling experience
Taking to the saddle in Il Ciocco means getting your fill of emotions immersed in nature, and discovering all aspects of mountain bikes. In 1991 Il Ciocco hosted the second World Cross-Country and Downhill Championship ever to be held and the first on the European continent. Here ancient trails were modernised to adapt to the new interpretations off-road cycling: downhill, freeride, enduro, cross country and trials. In 2020, Il Ciocco, together with the Absolute Italian Cross-Country Championships, organised the first edition of the Italian e-MTB Championship, and in 2021 it will host the World Marathon Championships (Master).
Slopes and lifts for bikers just a stone’s throw from the hotel. And for those who want to train ‘indoors’, Il Ciocco has the largest covered pump track in Italy.
Smooth wheels? The ascent to Il Ciocco was also chosen for the Giro d’Italia, and the surrounding area has many scenic routes that almost seem designed for cycling enthusiasts and bicycle touring.
