One of the things we think of when we decide to go on holiday is that “we have to start planning in advance if we want more choice”. But it can happen, at times, that you can wait till the last minute without really having a clear idea or planning a shorter holiday to recharge your batteries before the intense summer heat arrives.
For this reason, we have put together 4 holiday opportunities not to be missed.
A panoramic view of this destination for a mountain biking holiday allows you to explore its two different landscapes between military mountain roads with challenging and technical single track and more gentle routes that wind through the hills of Monferrato. The UNESCO route in Monferrato is highly recommended. 27 Km long with plenty of stops.
Wide spaces, meadows dotted with dairy farms and mountain huts, trails and mule tracks, these are the ingredients for off road biking in the Little Dolomites and the Nature Reserve of Lessinia situated between Vicenza, Verona and Trento. The village of Soave is right at the foothills of Mount Lessini, anyone who visits is likely to be spellbound by its shady alleys, Gothic palaces, towers and ancient walls. If you have never stopped here, now is the time to discover it.
Liguria & Finale
Fat bike enthusiasts will have plenty opportunities in Liguria between sky and sea to fuel their passion. Such as the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri which reaches Cepanara from Ventimiglia along a 700 km trail crossing 15 loop routes designed also for less trained cyclists with panoramic views of Corsica to the Alps. Or the Molini di Triora route suitable also for e-bikes that takes you to the Passo della Mezzaluna and “the ciotto di San Lorenzo” where you will find a menhir (standing stone) and a prehistoric sacrificial altar.
Rome & Hills
The surrounding area of Viterbo boasts roads carved into tufa rock, ancient woods, thermal springs, volcanic lakes and close contact with nature. Local cyclists prefer the routes that wind along the lake shores of Bolsena, Vico and Bracciano, we recommend those in Monte Fogliano which are all marked with wooden signs. You decide!
