The Stoneman Trail
Legend has it that a MTB champion, focused only on himself, rode though this area of truly rare beauty, the Valle di Sesto, without taking any notice of it. And so, to punish the superficiality of the cyclist, the Uno Peak made various stones roll down from its summit. The cyclist saved himself, but his bike remained buried under the rocks. Afterwards, returning to retrieve his bicycle, he built statuettes all along the route. Hence the name Stoneman-Trail. The route, whose motto is “make your dream come true”, is one of the most picturesque of the Dolomites: the goal in fact is to collect 5 stamps along the way at various checkpoints and Alpine huts. The Stoneman is a loop trail starting and finishing in Sesto, with challenging uphill sections awaiting cyclists along the way and the famous “Demut” single trail at a height of 2,400 metres.
