Biking in Heaven, these are the true words that can describe a Road Bike Experience on Lake Como.
ROAD BIKE: Muro di Sormano, Madonna del Ghisallo (the World Cyclists’s shrine), these are names that to all real bikers must ring more than a bell. You will be biking while enjoying enchanting panoramas, whether you go along the Lake or climb the mountains. Lake Como offers rides of any length and level. You can circle around the Lake, climb famous passes, such as Spluga, Ghisallo, muro di Sormano, or the Sighignola, also known as the Balcony of Italy.
MTB: Whether you will be riding on gently climbing WWI military roads (vehicles did not have low-range gears) or endeavoring steeper trails, or going downhill though an old cannon tunnel, you will always enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the Lake below you. A soft constant noise of cow bells in the distance will complete the picture of your enchanting Mountain Biking experience. Stopping at an Alp (where cow and goat herds pasture in the summer, and cheese is produced) to have a taste of freshly made Zincarlin, a sort of tasty local ricotta cheese, will add to your experience. Eventually stopping in one of the many Rifugios such as the spectacular Rifugio Venini, to enjoy Polenta and Cheese or Polenta and Deer, a tray of local salami and a glass of Inferno wine, will make your Mountain Biking experience on Lake Como unique and unforgettable
